Yin and yang, strength and softness, balance and grace. How can you flow in both your yoga practice and in your life? Leigh weaves these ideas through every class as she leads students through a challenging, and at times restorative, asana practice. The result is a moving meditation where one can be attentive to the body, the mind, the heart and the soul. Leigh's yoga roots were found in the breath and movement of Ashtanga Yoga. After many years of teaching Ashtanga, she traveled to India to study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. While in India, Leigh fell down a flight of marble stairs causing extensive back injuries. With time and a consistent therapeutic yoga practice, her back healed and her attention shifted towards a safer, yet challenging yoga practice. With extensive study of Iyengar Yoga, Leigh has woven the ideas of technical alignment with the beauty of breath and flowing movement. The end result is a safe and friendly environment for students to explore their breath, deepen their yoga experience and nourish their soul while developing strength, flexibility and calmness of mind. Leigh lives in Mill Valley and teaches in Marin County and San Francisco. Her schedule includes group classes, private clients, workshops and retreats. Over the years her client base has grown to include teenagers and kids. She's an avid traveler, hiker and has discovered cross country skiing and surfing. Her interest in holistic health and the relationship of body, mind & spirit continues to grow and influence both her own practice and her teaching.
